Damien Barr- CEO

Damien BarrDamien is a partner at KangaRent LLC, which is the owner of Kanga Property Management, a top residential property management firm and KangaRealty, a real estate brokerage. Originally heralding from Australia, CEO/COO Damien Barr began his career as a carpenter’s apprentice, which in turn led to a long and successful career in real estate and development. International travel as a professional rugby player sparked his interest in real estate abroad, eventually landing him in Aspen, Colorado. There, he became a licensed General Contractor, building high-end luxury homes for celebrities and well-known royal families. In Florida, Damien expanded his construction and management company to tackle projects like the proposed Riviera Beach 450 acre Redevelopment, and managed multiple resort development projects throughout the world in places such as Costa Rica, Greece and the United Arab Emirates. Now happily settled in Palm Beach, Damien, a licensed Realtor® and real estate broker, founded Kanga Real Estate Group, and then Kanga Property Management, to provide comprehensive services to the growing rental market. Damien is excited about the future of Kanga Real Estate Group.

Ned Grace- Partner

Ned is a partner at KangaRent LLC, which is the owner of Kanga Property Management, a top residential property management firm and KangaRealty, a real estate brokerage. At Kangarent LLC, Ned handles all financials, new business, and strategic opportunities. Prior to joining KangaRent LLC, Ned was an Analyst at Millennium Partners, a top performing $17 billion multi-strategy global Hedge Fund. At Millennium, Ned was an investment analyst on a long / short equity portfolio at the firm. Ned was responsible for sourcing and maintaining public equity investments throughout all segments of the consumer universe. Prior to joining Millennium Partners, Ned was a Senior Associate Analyst at Janney Montgomery Scott, where he worked for four years analyzing publicly-traded restaurant companies. During his time at Janney, Ned was voted the top performing Associate in the Equity Research department at the firm, and gained in depth knowledge of public equity valuation and investment. Prior to Janney, Ned was in the Mortgage Derivatives group at J.P. Morgan, and previously the Mortgage Backed Securities group at Bear Stearns & Co. Ned received his bachelor’s degree in Economics with a minor in Managerial Studies from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Ned is also a licensed realtor and an active member of the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches.

Richard Jaffe- Co-Founder

Richard comes from a background in Information Technology. During his more than twenty years on Wall Street, Rick held various senior management positions, most notably head of Information Technology for a securities brokerage firm, where he and his group built modeling systems for stock and option traders. Not completely incongruously, Rick, a Senior Managing Director, for six years was the Chief Compliance Officer for the same brokerage firm. He has a B.S. in Computer and Communication Sciences from the University of Michigan, a M.S. in Computer Science: Computer Engineering from Stanford University, and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Northwestern University. As Chief Technical Officer for Kanga Property Management, Rick provides the tools necessary for our people to provide the highest customer satisfaction, and for smooth, efficient operation as we expand.

Alina Benjaray- Chief Administrative Officer

Alina BenjarayBorn in New Orleans and raised in nearby Wellington, Florida, Operations Manager Alina Benjaray was reared in the family’s restaurant business, where she learned not only how to run the business, but also the Kanga Real Estate Group-critical skills of quickly learning the customer’s need, efficiently satisfying that need, and checking back to make sure the customer is happy. This ideal preparatory work gave Alina the skills at age sixteen to begin working as an administrative assistant for the high-rise residential developer The Related Group, where through five condominium pre-construction launches she coordinated sales contracts, re-sales, and condo leasing, and by the age of eighteen was promoted to Contract Administrator for a 420 unit high-rise building. Three years later Alina entered the general real estate field with a sister company of the pre-construction developer, Related Cervera Realty Services, where she managed three Palm Beach County branch offices. She is known for her organization, attention to detail, and being a high level multi-tasker able to take on many projects. At Kanga Real Estate Group, Alina is an important repository of transaction management expertise, a client communications expert, and a driving force toward maximally efficient operation.
